2013 → 2016At Fanpics, we created a new way to experience live sporting events. We partnered with teams on the NBA, NHL, and MLS to help capture the in-game fan experience to help relive the moment.
To achieve this, we built internal tools that worked with our custom camera robotics to help track and index venues. We worked with computer vision systems to automate the process process with manual fine tuning.
As we started getting traction with sports teams and venues, we began to monitize the product by partnering with brands like Pentel to sponsor exclusive gameday content. This was a way to help capture more of the in-venue attention between plays and create a new “Jumbotron 2.0” experience.
